c. 1880
Jackson’s General Store was located in this location as well as in the Barclay Block sometime between 1880 and 1923. This store, then may be the first location of the Bell Telephone switchboard in Georgetown. Mr. Jackson was the first Bell Telephone agent in town when the utility was introduced in 1884 and operating from his store.
