Market Roots
The Georgetown Farmers Market began in 1993 with a three-year startup grant from the Georgetown Central BIA. From day one, our market has championed Ontario-grown and locally made goods β requiring 70% of each vendorβs produce to come from their own farm or operation.
Thanks to strong community support and a growing vendor base, the market became self-sustaining by 1997. Since 2004, it has operated as a subcommittee of the Georgetown Central BIA.
To this day, the market is proudly run by a volunteer board made up of local farmers, the market manager, and community members, ensuring that the market remains deeply connected to the people it serves.
The Georgetown Farmers Market continues to be a cornerstone of the Halton Hills community, supporting local agriculture, small businesses, and community spirit.
